Silver Pothos Is November’s Plant of the Month

When you come to the Andrews Accounting office, you’ll notice that Jeri is growing one or two plants. One or two hundred, if you want to quibble. Anyway, we realized that all the humans and dogs in the office appear on our website. So, it seems only fair to include the plants as well. This month we interview the Silver Pothos.

Do you have a nickname?

Well, some people call me the Devil’s Ivy, because they say I’m impossible to kill. I was actually up for the lead in the movie Fatal Attraction, but Glenn Close beat me out for the part.

What’s your favorite book?

Honestly, it’s The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan. Those pollination scenes get me every time!

What’s your favorite meal?

Uh, sunshine? Hello?

Sorry. What’s your earliest memory?

Being a cutting.

What’s your happiest memory?

Getting into the soil after beling cut!

Sunny day at the beach, or stormy day at home with a cup of tea?

Hmmm. Well, I like the light, and I don’t mind if it’s gray. Look in the plant guides – they’ll tell you I’m not particular. I dont even mind the dark that much! Direct sun, hmm, well, I burn.

What’s your favorite place in the world?

My pot! Wait – are you telling me there are other places?

What’s your favorite quote?

“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” Audrey Hepburn said that.

What celebrity do you get confused with?

It’s Athos, one of the Three Musketeers. I don’t see it myself. Maybe it’s the name.

Do you have any hobbies?

I like to go running. I have to confess that I don’t do it very much.

Do you speak any other languages?

Well, Philodendron, of course. You’re not going to get along with a room full of house plants if you don’t.

Do you have a best friend?

Jeri. She really looks out for me.

Do you have any enemies?

Glenn Close.
