Short Deadline for Working Washington Small Business Emergency Grant 2.0 Program

Bellingham small businesses hurt by the pandemic have a tiny window to apply for another type of emergency COVID grant. The Port of Bellingham is administering the Working Washington Small Business Emergency Grant 2.0 program. The WWSBEG grants offer up to $10,000 for local businesses suffering economic injury after March 1, 2020 due to the corona virus pandemic.

Deadline

The deadline for the WWSBEG 2.0 grant, which just went online September 25, is October 1, 2020. Applicants have until 11:59 pm on the 1st to apply.

Eligibility

Eligible businesses must have been in operation more than two years, with a maximum of 10 full-time employees. Applicants must have complied with the county and state’s health and safety rules regarding the pandemic. Companies that received a WWSBEG 1.0 or Washington ReStart grant can’t apply.

This emergency COVID grant is designed to reimburse expenses incurred between March 1 and September 30 this year. Those expenses must be due to the COVID-19 pandemic and necessary to keep the business running. Past-due government taxes (payroll, etc.) aren’t allowed. Applicants will have to submit receipts if their application is approved. Review will take place between October 2 and 8, and the Port will announce the awards on October 12.
